Gold Nugget Pleco L-018 5"-6" (Baryancistrus Xanthellus)

Origin: Gold Nugget Pleco L-018 comes from the Xingu river in the Amazon, Brazil

Maximum Size: Gold Nugget Plecos L-018 are a slow growing plecos but can reach lenghts up to 8 inches.

Care: Gold Nugget Plecos L-018 require excellent water conditions. The Gold Nugget likes a pH from 6.5 to7.4. The water temperature should be around 24-28C (72f-82f).

Feeding: Gold Nugget Plecos L-018 are mostly vegetarian grazing on algae in the tank.  If no Algae is present you can feed your Gold nugget Pleco L-018 slices of zuchinni or algae pellets sold at your local Pet store,  They may also accept other foods like black worms and flake food.

Breeding: No detailed accounts are known for breeding the Gold Nugget Pleco in captivity.

Sexing: Gold Nugget Plecos L-018 are very difficult to sex even with mature specimens.

Comments: Gold Nugget Plecos are generally nocturnal but venture out more once fully settled. Gold Nugget Plecos L-018 should have some bogwood in the tank to graze on and a cave to call home.
