I have to admit, I was a little worried about ordering live fish from the Internet and having them shipped to me as opposed to going to my LFS and picking them up spot on scene, but I could not find a LFS that had the EBJD's in stock or the ability to order them so I gave it a shot.
I placed the order at about 5pm on a Thursday and recieved a call from Nicole at aquascape at about 6:00pm confirming all of my information and explaining the process to me. I recieved an email about 20 minutes later from FedEx informing me that my order had been shipped. The box arrived at 10:30am the next day, which blew my mind! I was expecting AT LEAST 24 hours before they arrived. Not sure if the praise should go to aquascape or Fedex, but I was extremely happy to get them within 15 hours of placing the order.
The fish were shipped in a small box, I was a little concerned that there was no markings of 'Live Animals' or a 'Fragile' sticker on the box, but it looked to be in good shape with no evidence of mishandling. I opened the box and was suprised to see actual R-15 fiberglass home grade insulation with a perfect carve out in the middle for the double bag which contained my fish and a little oxygen activated heater. The temperature of the water in the bag was 79.2 degrees, which is perfect! I did not even have to float them long in order to bring the temperature in the bag up to the 81.5 that I keep my planted tank at.
As I am opening the bags to drip acclimate the fish, my phone rings. It was Nicole from aquascape checking up to make sure the order was delivered, and wondering if I had any questions. Very impressive customer service!
The fish have been in the tank for about 20 minutes as I write this review and they are literally swimming all over and exploring their new home. No signs of shock from the process at all. I'll definitely be using this service in the future!
